Last Ditch Efforts to Block U.K. Discrimination Regs Fails

The focus on this story is adoption (as in "No Catholic Agencies Need apply"), but my understanding is these regulations also forbid private religious schools from teaching that homosexual acts are wrong:
"The Government has fought off an attempt by religious leaders, judges and Tory peers to block regulations laying down equal rights for gay and lesbian couples over adoption and services such as bed and breakfast accommodation.

The Sexual Orientation Discrimination order caused a furore over claims that it would lead to Catholic adoption agencies being forced to close down. But last night peers rejected an attempt to force the Government to rethink the measure by 168 votes to 122, a majority of 46 . . "

Putting truth to the lie that this “live and let live” movement is anything but.
I have compiled the relevant news & opinion pieces on Opine Editorials

This society will end up with one standard at the end of this. That standard is either that children deserve a mother and father and marriage is important. Or that mothers or fathers are expendable and marriage is just one of a multiple of acceptable forms for adults and children.

I support civil recognition and encouragement of stable gay partnerships aka SSM. But I don't generally agree with this policy. So long as a charitable service or religious school doesn't receive public funds I don't believe the government has any business dictating their policy.

The intrusive PC-nick, free speech quashing busy body wing of the gay rights movement is, in my opinion, completely out of bounds. They're causing serious setbacks in freedom, tolerance and especially their own cause. I only hope more sensible and moderate voices in the movement can quell the madness before a serious backlash is provoked.

It's ironic isn't it (and oh how homosexuals tend to love irony), that the feminist complaint that "men treat women as mere sperm receptacles" has been reversed, so that women may now treat men as "mere sperm dispensers"?

This, in the name of "equality"
